This release introduces Native File Level Recovery. It allows a user to select and remotely mount individual PersistentVolumeClaims from a specified Kasten restore point without needing to copy all volume data back to the cluster. Rather than having to restore an entire clone of a VM from backup (and then manually retrieve/copy files and delete the clone), native FLR provides a streamlined process for recovery of individual files from a backup.
v8.5 release expands upon the VBR-only support introduced in v8.0 to include Kasten restore points exported to non-VBR locations (ex. S3, Azure Blob, Veeam Vault, NFS, etc.)
