Loylty Rewardz is the definition of a data-driven business. The company uses advanced analytics to tailor rewards and loyalty programs for its clients. It also harnesses data to optimize strategic decision-making and drive improvements in both customer experiences and operational efficiency.
“We cannot overstate the importance of data and the ability to access it quickly and reliably at Loylty Rewardz,” said Sachin Godse, VP & Head of IT Infrastructure at Loylty Rewardz. “Our customers expect seamless access to their program information, while our employees use data in every business decision.”
With the threat of cyberattack increasing and company data growing fast, Loylty Rewardz took stock of its existing data protection measures and found them wanting. To meet escalating customer expectations and empower its employees to work without interruption, the company began looking for an alternative.
“As our customer base expands, so does our data — we estimate that it’s currently growing at approximately 25% per year,” said Godse. “Our previous data protection solution had reached its limits, so we looked for a more scalable, efficient option that could strengthen our cyber-resilience posture. As we move towards a hybrid multi-cloud strategy, we needed a data protection toolset that could work seamlessly with a wide range of IT environments.”
By enabling high data availability with Veeam, Loylty Rewardz helps to ensure exceptional customer experiences and supports its ongoing expansion. The company selected Veeam following a careful consideration of leading data protection solutions.
“Veeam offered the right balance of comprehensive data protection, advanced ransomware defenses, ease-of-use, scalability, and cost-effectiveness,” said Godse. “It stood out against the other solutions we considered due to its robust feature set, user-friendly management, and proven reliability in protecting diverse IT environments. In other words, Veeam gives us data freedom.”
Loylty Rewardz uses Veeam to back up data from a diverse IT landscape that includes workloads running on-premises and in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud environments. The company’s critical applications include its analytics, customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), loyalty management systems, SQL Server, Oracle, and NoSQL databases and email and collaboration tools.
“With Veeam, we moved from backing up our most critical data daily to every four hours,” said Godse. “We also take full backups weekly rather than every two weeks. Now, we store our backups both on-premises and in the cloud when they were only on-premises or on off-site tapes in the past. Veeam provides the data freedom that enables a big step forward in our hybrid multi-cloud strategy. As well as reducing our recovery point objective by 30%, we’ve cut backup times by 40% and increased our backup success rate by 20%. We’re both better protected and more efficient because of Veeam.”
Using Veeam, Loylty Rewardz can recover data much faster than before and has seen data availability climb by 20%. The company has augmented its cyber-resilience measures significantly, helping to reduce the risk of interruptions to business operations.
“With features such as Veeam Instant Recovery, we can bounce back much sooner from any incident affecting our business continuity,” said Godse. “We can now recover individual files in seconds and entire virtual machines in minutes. We’re taking advantage of functionality, such as immutable backups and SureBackup to ensure we’re better protected against cyberattacks than ever before.”
Loylty Rewardz has also significantly improved the cost-efficiency of its data protection measures with Veeam. The company is using these savings to drive service improvements for customers and users.
“We’ve saved $100,000 USD per year on backup-related costs with Veeam,” said Godse. “When you consider it allows us to avoid downtime that costs an estimated $50,000 USD per hour as well, the business case for Veeam is incredibly compelling. Veeam also halves the administrative burden related to data protection.”
Godse continued: “We’re allocating resources freed up with Veeam to developing new services for our customers, optimizing workflows, upgrading our IT infrastructure, upskilling our staff and bolstering our customer support capabilities. All in all, working with Veeam is helping Loylty Rewardz elevate our offering, so that we can continue to grow our market share.”
