Improvements to Email Notifications, Search Options and Session Logging
  • Separate email notifications are now sent based on backup policy completion status, with distinct messages for success, warning, or failure.
  • Advanced search options for Outlook, OneDrive and SharePoint now support multiple criteria, allowing users to refine search results for more accurate and efficient information retrieval.
  • Backup session log details now appear in a new popup window by default, displaying local time and timestamps. The “Local time” toggle and “Show timestamps” checkbox have been removed.

User Interface Improvements to Navigation, Dashboard and Core Workflows
  • Ability to transition tenants enabled for the Express plan from the Fixed to the Variable license model is now available.
  • Email notifications for backup results now feature improved formatting, and the sender address for job result notifications has changed to no-reply@mail.cloud.veeam.com.
  • A new “Include all personal sites” option allows all personal sites to be added to SharePoint backup policies in a single step.
  • The “Notifications” page now includes a “Mark all as read” option, enabling users to clear all notifications at once.
  • SharePoint sites can now be filtered by URL when creating a new backup policy, making it easier to add specific sites to protection policies.
  • The dashboard now includes a “Recent User Activity” section, providing insights into recent actions within the application.
  • The following elements, views and wizards have been updated to be more user friendly: menu bar, dashboard, Backup Policies view, Restore view, Search Flex Backups view, and wizards including policy creation, mailbox and item restores, OneDrive and SharePoint restores, report scheduling and Teams chat setup.

Issue Resolutions for Dashboard, Permissions, Notifications and Data Accuracy
  • The dashboard now correctly displays the “Running” status when an initial backup policy is in progress.
  • Permissions assigned to the secondary backup application registration for SharePoint and OneDrive are now limited to only what is necessary.
  • The “Select” filter in the “Search Flex Backups” screen now reloads correctly based on modifications in the “Search Within” field.
  • The Highest Storage Users diagram on the dashboard now displays storage consumption in gigabytes (GB) instead of as a percentage.
  • Counters for protected and unprotected accounts in the Backup view of the dashboard have been corrected.
  • Email notifications for backup completion are now sent consistently, resolving previous issues with notification delivery.
  • Personal Sites can now be selected when adding a SharePoint site to a user role scope.
  • Users with custom group-level access roles can now access and restore Outlook and OneDrive data protected by Express policies.
  • When declining to create recommended backup policies automatically, correct options are now provided for all tenant configurations.
  • Items already included in a backup policy are now properly filtered out from the “Add More Items” and “Exclude Items” options during policy edits.

Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is now accessible within the unified web interface alongside Veeam Data Cloud for Entra ID and Veeam Data Cloud for Salesforce. This release brings these core services together into a single, consistent platform, streamlining the monitoring and management over protected data.
