The HPE Discover 2017 event in EMEA was held in Madrid, Spain last week. There, HPE and their partners unveiled a multitude of solutions to help customers capitalize on business opportunities created by the booming amount of data generated by hyper-connected users, applications and devices. Additionally, we heard from HPE senior executives, industry experts and customers on just how disruptive this data deluge can be to organizations, and the need for businesses to drive successful digital transformation initiatives to remain competitive.

In the last couple years, On-Demand Labs have become an important part in our IT industry to train employees, run customer demos and get hands-on experience. For long-term external storage, HPE StoreOnce provides deduplication for efficient storage utilization and fault isolation for data.

Here at Veeam, our alliance partners are at the core of our business, and we continually work together with them to deliver Availability for the Always-On Enterprise. Cisco has been one of our key alliance partners for many years, and in recent months, we further strengthened our partnership through several strategic movements for the benefit of our customers. I’m dusting off my cowboy boots and getting ready to head down to the Lone Star State (Texas) for Cisco’s annual partner summit in a couple weeks. The Cisco Partner Summit is their premier, invite-only partner event held annually for their top partner executives. This year’s theme is “OWN IT,” and as it rapidly approaches, I thought about how Veeam and Cisco is well on their way to OWN IT and enable their customers to do the same, together.

It’s been a challenging and emotional week. The horrific tragedy in Las Vegas has left us all heartbroken and a bit numb. With NetApp Insight scheduled this week, the decision was made to cancel the first day’s events and activities, but resume the conference and sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, as planned. I’m sure it was a difficult and delicate decision for our friends at NetApp to make, but they have shown respect, class and leadership to all this week. We are proud to call them partners.

I’m in Orlando with my emotions torn.

Firstly, I feel humbled by the welcome all of those attending Microsoft Ignite have received from a city that has been through so much in the past few weeks. Hurricane Irma inflicted so much destruction and devastation across the state, and to be welcomed in such a warm way by folks who are still picking up the pieces proves that human spirit and determination can overcome so much.
