Challenge

While running a backup job, it errors with:
 

Failed to save backup meta to '[Directory]\Jobname.vbm'. Failed to save file content. Access is denied

Cause

The account you are using to connect to that directory does not have enough permissions to write to the VBM file.

Solution

Make sure that the account you are using to connect to your repository has full read/write access to the VBM location that is trying to be written to.

1. Select Backup Repositories on the left:

2. Right-click the Repository and click Properties.

3. Select Share and then change the Username/Password fields.
