Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 now includes Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) encryption - also known as Customer-managed Encryption Keys - as a Limited Availability Preview. Only customers of Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 Premium can participate in this early access program.

Why This Matters

With a customer-managed encryption key, organizations retain full control over their data while benefiting from the scalability and convenience of as-a-Service solutions. This capability empowers organizations to host, manage, and control their own encryption keys, and, if needed, revoke Veeam Data Cloud’s access at any time.

Important: There are risks associated with using customer-managed encryption keys. If a key is lost or deleted, access to all encrypted data is permanently lost and cannot be recovered.

Getting Started

Premium customers can enable BYOK by following the steps outlined within the BYOK Encryption section of the Veeam Data Cloud User Guide, and then contacting Veeam Customer Support to request access.
