Founded in 1980 and headquartered in New Taipei City, Yankey Engineering provides turnkey engineering services, including cleanroom systems and HVAC solutions for high-tech manufacturing facilities. Its clients include some of the world’s most demanding technology manufacturers such as TSMC, Micron, and Largan Precision. Over the past four decades, the company has expanded across Taiwan, Mainland China, Southeast Asia, and the United States, earning a strong reputation for precision engineering and on-time delivery.
In the engineering industry, system stability and project delivery capability directly impact corporate reputation and competitiveness. Even brief unplanned downtime can delay high-value projects due to the dependency on data availability across design, construction, and acceptance stages. With operations spanning multiple regions, disruptions can significantly affect service quality.
“As systems scale and data volumes grow, our previous backup solution could no longer meet requirements. Recovery was slow, security was limited, and management complexity reduced efficiency. Without proper data protection, backup, and recovery, we face significant operational risk,” said Xie Chaoqing, Information Department, General Management Office, Yankey Engineering.
As cyber threats become increasingly complex, information security has evolved from a technical requirement into a core enterprise risk management strategy. The company strengthened authentication, access control, endpoint and server protection, and employee security awareness training. However, these measures alone were insufficient to fully mitigate risks. A ransomware attack or failed recovery could result in production downtime, delivery delays, and significant reputational and financial damage.
“When you are building production facilities for leading semiconductor and technology companies, downtime is not just inconvenient — it is a crisis. Every employee depends on accurate data to make timely decisions and ensure smooth operations while maintaining customer trust,” said Xie Chaoqing.
For Yankey Engineering, data protection is fundamental to maintaining production lines and ensuring project delivery. Any data corruption or extended downtime can impact design, construction, and final delivery. Therefore, the company required a solution that ensures data integrity and rapid recovery of critical systems.
As business expanded and reliance on data increased, limitations in the existing backup architecture became more apparent. The previous solution was complex and required costly upgrades even for basic immutable backup capabilities. The company therefore sought a platform offering faster recovery, higher security, and more efficient management.
After evaluation, Yankey Engineering selected Veeam Data Platform and Veeam Data Cloud Vault to protect its core systems.
“We deployed Veeam Data Platform and Veeam Data Cloud Vault to protect on-premises systems, virtual machines, ERP, HR systems, and file services. We aim to enhance protection using immutable backups, clean recovery, and AI-driven automation while reducing cyber risk,” said Xie Chaoqing.
The deployment was led by the internal IT team in collaboration with Veeam partner Yifan Technology, ensuring smooth integration and zero operational disruption.
The intuitive interface enabled rapid adoption, improving operational efficiency and freeing IT resources for higher-value initiatives.
“Our operations span multiple regions and involve complex hybrid environments. Veeam is the first solution that provides reliable recovery, ransomware resilience, and full visibility without increasing operational burden,” said Xie Chaoqing.
Future plans include extending protection to cloud and SaaS workloads to build a fully resilient hybrid IT environment.
