Purpose

This article documents how to change the default path that Veeam Report Viewer uses to store VMR files.

Solution

The per-user configuration settings for Veeam Report Viewer are contained within the user.config file for the process. The path to the user.config varies between deployments and versions.

Example path:

%localappdata%\Veeam_Software_Group_GmbH\VeeamReportViewer.exe_Url_13ntcg5m23je2z0va2tk1viyujmxtopt\12.3.0.0\user.config

 

Follow these instructions to change Veeam Report Viewer's default path to store VMR files.

  1. Navigate to the following directory:
%localappdata%\Veeam_Software_Group_GmbH
  1. Within that folder, open the subfolder starting with VeeamReportViewer.exe_Url_ and ending in a UUID string.
  2. Within that folder, open the folder matching the version of Veeam Report Viewer in use (e.g., 12.3.0.0).
  3. Within that version folder, open the user.config file.
  4. Within the user.config file, find the following entry, and update the path as needed: 
                <setting name="ReportsFolder" serializeAs="String">
                <value>C:\Users\UserName\Documents\My Veeam Reports\</value>
            </setting>
  5. Save changes to the user.config file and restart the Veeam Report Viewer.
