Overview

Veeam Backup & Replication supports backup, restore, and replication of virtual machine workloads running on the initial Azure Stack HCI, an offering built on Hyper-V and Storage Spaces Direct, released in 2019.

Starting with Veeam Backup & Replication v11, support is extended to Azure Stack HCI OS. Azure Stack HCI OS is a hyper-converged operating system delivered as a service with a dedicated release cycle deployed on-premises with ties to Azure for licensing. 

Supported Versions

Veeam Backup & Replication provides support for the following platforms having the Hyper-V role installed.

Replication from older versions to newer versions of Hyper-V is supported, and it is possible to replicate virtual machines from Hyper-V to Azure Stack HCI. When doing this, the virtual machine configuration version increases.

Note: Replicating from a newer version of Azure Stack HCI, or Hyper-V, to an older version is not possible.
