Challenge

The installation of the Veeam CDP I/O Filter fails during deployment with the following error: 
17/02/2021 12:15:55 Error    Installing VeeamCDP components on cluster: <clustername> ... Error: the operation is not allowed in the current state
17/02/2021 12:15:55 Error    Failed to install VeeamCDP I/O filters: Failed to install VeeamCDP I/O filter on cluster: <clustername>

Cause

Veeam Support has determined that this issue is most frequently related to a DNS resolution failure.

Solution

All servers involved in the I/O Filter installation, Veeam server, vCenter, and ESXi host(s), must be able to resolve each other via FQDN.
