As we start to witness signs of recovery thanks to the phenomenal work of the world’s medical professionals, I reflect on the last 12 months as a year of immense innovation and adaptation. Technology has always been a driver for success, but during 2020 and 2021, it has been a defining factor in how we’ve all adapted to a fully virtual world. We’ve all had to adapt, develop new skills, evolve to being remote workers, and in doing so, learn how to tackle a new set of challenges; for businesses, that has included dealing with a surging amount of data that’s been generated. In fact, we are creating and consuming more data than ever. I shared at VeeamON that last year, users created more than 59 zettabytes of data… that’s 59 TRILLION gigabytes of data, or 7,500 GB of data for every human on the planet, and this has to be protected.
With this in mind, Veeam has remained laser-focused on its mission to be the most trusted provider of backup, recovery and data management solutions that deliver Modern Data Protection, to protect our customers’ data no matter where it resides. Thanks to our innovation and dedication to customers’ success, I am delighted that our focus has been recognized in being named a LEADER in 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup and Recovery Software Solutions1 for the fifth consecutive year, and positioned as the highest for the ability to execute for the second year in a row.
I couldn’t be prouder of the Veeam ecosystem, and I want to congratulate everyone for this achievement. To become a Leader once is a huge accolade, but to be positioned in the top-right quadrant for five consecutive years is something else – especially when you consider how competitive the data protection market is. However, what I am delighted about is that we, for the second year running, have the best execution. We have reported double-digit growth for more than 14 consecutive quarters, have amassed more than 400,000 customers, boast the best customer satisfaction scores in the industry, and I feel it’s a testament to the work we have put in across the business over the past year to continually execute our vision.
While I am excited to announce this achievement, Veeam does not rest on its laurels and will continue to drive innovation and help our customers succeed. We recently provided a glimpse into our future roadmap at VeeamON, and over the coming months, you will see a lot of exciting announcements that I am confident will help secure a sixth year as Leader, and a third as the highest in ability to execute.
But again, thanks to everyone at Veeam, our partners and customers for your continued support. Stay safe.
