NEW Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v7 Brings Immutable Backup Copies and Cross Product Integrations

Veeam is thrilled to report Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v7 has launched. This release brings many exciting enhancements to already existing features like backup copy with the addition of immutability and copy to any object storage, and new cross-product integrations into Veeam ONE and Veeam Service Provider Console. In addition, the self-service restore portal can now be used to orchestrate restores for Microsoft Teams. Backup Copy Enhancements

In Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v7 there are two notable feature releases around backup copy; the addition of immutability and the capability to copy from any object storage to any object storage. By adding immutability to the backup copy, V7 now offers an enhanced security layer to data and peace of mind in malicious attack scenarios. In addition to increasing the security in backup copy this release has also expanded the backup copy target from just low-cost object storage classes to any object storage. In true Veeam style, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 backup copy is now storage agnostic and offers enhanced data protection.

Veeam ONE

With the release of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v7 and Veeam ONE v12 will bring new monitoring and reporting for Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365. Veeam ONE release will offer the ability to import the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 server into the console to provide centralized monitoring and over 10 new reports and alarms. Within this monitoring statistics like proxy configurations, repository utilizations, protected items and so much more. Additionally, the new built-in reports will offer details on corrective actions, customizable automated remediation actions and customized alerts. In addition to client configuration Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 can also be viewed from the Veeam ONE web client for easy access and health checks.

 

Service Provider Console

With the release of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v7 and Veeam Service Provider Console v7 will come full integration for Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365. This enriched integration will now allow tenants to configure and manage their own backup jobs, organizations and restore processes from the client portal without the need to provide Microsoft 365 credentials to the provider. Providers will now be able to provide a more inclusive and integrated Backup as a Service to their tenants based on their complete service portfolio.

 

Self-Service Restore Portal

The self-service portal is in its second major release cycle with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v7 and has many remarkable things to offer. Most notably, restoration processes can now be performed for Microsoft Teams by restore operators. Additional restore options have also been added like point-in-time restore, OneDrive and SharePoint folder restore, and an enhanced interface.
