Microsoft Office 365 automated auxiliary backup deployment

One of the biggest challenges when backing up data from Microsoft Office 365 was Microsoft's throttling metrics placed on SharePoint Online and OneDrive site data. This throttling is based on per account to a single site. In previous versions of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365, the backup processing will download data with the one account used to authenticate the organization. Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 version 4 added a new feature called auxiliary backup accounts to help mitigate this issue. Read more

My first blog, 3 steps to protect your SAP HANA database, provided insight as to how Veeam can help with these challenges, including installing and configuring the Veeam Plug-in for SAP HANA and leveraging it to perform backup and restore operations. This blog expands that discussion and focuses on SAP HANA backint configuration, as well as recommendations on protecting your SAP application environment. Read more

Unfortunately, this cannot be covered in one blog, but I’ve often found the best place to start is the beginning. For this first blog I will cover how to install and configure the plug-in — mainly as a step-by-step guide for Veeam administrators with less or little Linux and SAP HANA knowledge. Read more
