Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 

  • Service providers running the RTM version of the backup agent can now upgrade their agent installations to the GA build.

Resolved issues


  • VSPC services do not start after the upgrade if there are cloned Veeam Cloud Connect servers present in the infrastructure.

Cloning backup servers can lead to other potential issues with monitoring, reporting, and remote management functionality. 

RESTful APIs v2

  • GET /v2/backupServers method does not return any data. 

  • POST /v2/tenants method fails to execute.

  • POST /v2/computers/{id}/action method does not work when activating a backup agent.

  • GET /v2/discoveryRules method does not return any data if there are Linux discovery rules configured  

  • GET /v2/failoverPlans method fails to execute. 

  • GET /v2/wanAccelerators method does not display WAN accelerators configured on the Cloud Connect side.

Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows

  • The default retention policy type is switched to “by days” instead of “by point” for the server operation mode 

  • System reserved and EFI partitions are excluded from processing when doing a system volume backup.

  • Under certain conditions, backup agent services will fail to start after the upgrade.

  • Backup metadata fails to update when transaction backup log job and retention task are executed at the same time.


To install Patch 1, perform these steps: 

  1. Back up the VSPC configuration database.
  2. Log off from all active VSPC UI sessions.
  3. Execute the VSPC.ApplicationServer.x64_5.0.0.6838.msp file on the VSPC server as administrator.
  4. Execute VSPC.WebUI.x64_5.0.0.6838.msp as administrator on the VSPC UI (IIS) server.

To upgrade Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows from RTM to GA version, perform these steps:

Please be informed that installing update for Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows may lead to silent restart of the operating system on the corresponded workstation.
  1. Select the veeam_agent_5.0.0.4301_privatefixupdate0.exe file to upload it to remote computers.
  2. Log in to the VSPC portal and stop all Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows running jobs, including transaction log backup jobs.
  3. Navigate to Discovery -> Discovered Backup Agents and select all agents running the RTM version and open the Backup Agent menu in the actions toolbar to select the Patch operation.
After the upgrade backup agent version will become in the VSPC UI, however, in the Add & Remove Programs snap-in, the version of the backup agent will not change and will remain
