Challenge

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365's auto-update activated via the user interface may fail with: 

Offline thumbprint check failed: certificate is invalid.

Cause

This error is related to the Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 updater's certificate checks.

Solution

This issue was resolved starting in Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 7.0 (7.0.0.2911).

To fully fix the updater for next releases, please, manually download and install the latest version from KB4425. Once it's set, auto-update must work properly for future versions.
