SureBackup Job for Linux Docker Host Fails Ping Test
Challenge
A SureBackup Job's ping and application tests attempt to interact with an unexpected IP address of a Virtual Machine running Docker.
Cause
The SureBackup Job's recovery verification tests use the IP addresses reported to the VMware Environment by VMware Tools.
Solution
To control which IP addresses SureBackup will use for tests, reconfigure VMware Tools to exclude network adapters that should not have their IP reported to the VMware Environment.
More Information
All changes must be made to the production Virtual Machine. After reconfiguring the VMware Tools settings on the production machine, verify that the expected IP addresses are listed in the vSphere Client, then rerun the backup job for that VM and rerun the SureBackup job with that new restore point.
