Purpose

This article documents new features, enhancements, and fixes deployed for the Veeam Intelligence backend logic.

Since all Veeam Intelligence updates are server-side, no updates to Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam ONE, or Veeam Service Provider Console are required to take advantage of the changes described in this article.

  • Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Software Appliance - Data Resilience Summary Report (Morning Coffee Report): Start every day with one concise briefing. The report aggregates job outcomes across large estates, groups errors by workload for instant triage, and adds context-aware recommendations with links to trusted KBs and guides. It reduces alert fatigue, shortens stand-up prep, and gives leaders a clear snapshot they can act on. Requires Veeam Backup & Replication or Veeam Software Appliance 13.0.1.
  • Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Software Appliance - Veeam Intelligence Advanced Mode in Console and Web:  Ask environment-aware questions and get precise answers backed by live data from Veeam Backup & Replication. Key benefits include faster audits of versions and licensing, immediate views into job health and upcoming runs, quick proxy and repository capacity checks, and direct insights into backups, restore points, WAN accelerators, malware events, and recent sessions—leading to fewer console hops and faster time to answers for operational questions. Requires Veeam Backup & Replication or Veeam Software Appliance 13.0.1. In Advanced mode, it can use the following information to generate precise, actionable results:
    • Backup server version, build, database engine, and server time
    • License status, edition, expiry, VUL instance usage, socket consumption, NAS capacity, and support ID
    • Job inventory with policy details, schedules, retention, encryption, and guest processing
    • Live job states with last results, bottlenecks, progress, next runs, and job chaining
    • Backup proxies with transport mode, task slots, encryption posture, and component version state
    • Backup repositories with capacity, free space, utilization, task limits, throttling, fast clone, and vPower NFS settings
    • WAN accelerators with ports, streams, High Bandwidth Mode, and cache size and location
    • Protected objects with restore point counts, latest point time, RPO age, and allowed restore operations
    • Backups with contents, on-disk footprint, logical data size, dedupe and compression ratios, and GFS presence
    • Configuration backup enablement, schedule, last success, repository, retention, and encryption
    • Global notifications, SMTP readiness, daily report time, storage thresholds, and SIEM settings
    • NAS and file server processing mode, proxies, cache repository, IO control, and credential posture
    • Malware events by severity, source, and time, with recovery hints when a clean restore point exists
    • Protection groups and discovered agents with install policies, versions, CBT status, and last connected age
    • Sessions timeline with outcomes, durations, failure reasons, and success rates
  • Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Software Appliance - Malware Deep Analysis Agent: Turn detections into action. This new AI agent summarizes anomalies, highlights blast radius per workload, and proposes next steps. Operators can review the relevant log snippet, identify the nearest clean restore point, and optionally trigger a signature-based malware scan from inside Veeam Intelligence. This improves triage quality and speeds safe recovery decisions. Requires Veeam Backup & Replication or Veeam Software Appliance 13.0.1.
  • Veeam ONE - Deep-data Analysis Agent: Query any Veeam ONE Saved Report in natural language and work with millions of rows without rebuilding the report. The agent loads results into an internal data frame for instant filtering, compact tables, and on-demand charts. Customers can ask things like “Show protected versus unprotected workloads for the last X months” and get an answer they can export. It reuses existing report permissions and accelerates Day-2 analysis. Requires Veeam ONE 13.0.1.
  • Veeam Intelligence modal - Expand and collapse: Make space when you need it. The panel now expands to a wide layout for long tables, deep multi-step guidance, and side-by-side context. This reduces scrolling and helps operators act faster when reviewing complex answers. Available in Veeam ONE 13.0.1, Veeam Backup & Replication, or Veeam Software Appliance 13.0.1 Web UI.
  • Charts and data visualization support across products: Convert large tables into visual clarity in seconds. Veeam Intelligence can render donut, pie, bar, column, or line charts straight from advanced data sources such as Veeam ONE Saved Reports, alarms, protected workloads, capacity sets, etc. This speeds trend reviews, highlights anomalies, and improves executive reporting without leaving the product. Available in Veeam Backup & Replication or Veeam Software Appliance, Veeam ONE, and Veeam Service Provider Console.
  • Speech to Text: Talk to Veeam Intelligence. Users can ask questions by voice, see a live waveform while speaking, and get accurate transcripts that drive the same environment-aware answers. This improves accessibility and helps during hands-busy workflows. Available in Veeam ONE 13.0.1, Veeam Backup & Replication or Veeam Software Appliance 13 and 13.0.1 in Console and Web UI, and Veeam Service Provider Console 9 and 9.0.1.
  • Text to Speech: Have Veeam Intelligence read its answer aloud in your language of choice. This is ideal for accessibility and for guided walk-throughs while you execute the recommended steps. Available in Veeam ONE 12.3 through 13.0.1, Veeam Backup & Replication or Veeam Software Appliance 13 and 13.0.1 in Console and Web UI, and Veeam Service Provider Console 9 and 9.0.1.

Enhancements
  • Veeam Backup & Replication — Enhanced Basic Mode: Veeam Intelligence now performs agent-based real-time queries across official Veeam sources, including Help Center, Support KB, R&D Forums, and other veeam.com content. This replaces reliance on a static guide-only vector index and yields more accurate, better-sourced answers. Available in both Windows Console and Web Console.
  • Veeam Service Provider Console — Basic Mode: Same engine as Veeam Data Platform Basic Mode. Customers can ask natural language questions and instantly reach high-quality Veeam Service Provider Console technical documentation from veeam.com properties.
  • Veeam Service Provider Console — Advanced Mode: Veeam Intelligence can answer environment-aware questions using VSPC data. The most common scenarios are grouped as follows:
    • About and Versions: Quickly see the deployed Veeam Service Provider Console version and all managed Agent versions.
    • Urgent Notifications: Surface permanent or high-priority notifications that require attention.
    • Protection Coverage: Check protection status for VMs, computers, file shares, object storage, public cloud workloads, and Microsoft 365 protected objects.
    • Job and Policy Health: Review failures and outcomes in the last 24 hours or for a specific day.
    • Active Alarms: List all active alarms to focus response efforts.
    • Organizations and Partners: Retrieve company and reseller details for oversight and reporting.
    • Asset Discovery: View discovered computers based on configured rules.
    • Infrastructure Inventory: Inspect backup agents, Veeam Backup & Replication servers, and Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 servers managed by Veeam Service Provider Console.
    • Support Visibility: List current support cases with IDs and statuses.

Enhancements
  • Visible Thinking Process: To improve transparency and trust in AI-generated responses, Veeam Intelligence now displays its thought process as a step-by-step task list. This includes key operations such as data retrieval, environment setup, analysis, and response generation, helping customers understand how conclusions are reached through the agentic data pipeline.
  • Advanced Response Rating: We've expanded the response rating functionality to allow customers to provide more detailed feedback. In addition to like/dislike buttons, customers can now select from pre-defined tags (e.g., Accurate answer, Exceeded expectations) and add optional comments. This enables more targeted improvements across the Veeam Intelligence ecosystem.

  • CSV & JSON Export for Grids: Any interactive grid artifact can now be downloaded in CSV or JSON format, making it easy to feed results into BI tools or spreadsheets.
  • Response Ratings: Added like / dislike buttons so users can rate Veeam Intelligence answers and help Veeam continually improve.
  • Security & Stability Updates: Routine bug fixes plus library upgrades that resolve known vulnerabilities (e.g., CVE-2025-27789), delivering a safer and more reliable Veeam Intelligence experience.

Enhancements
  • New UI theme: Introducing a new cleaner design and more intuitive interface for Veeam Intelligence.
  • Interactive Grids: Instead of bulky Markdown, Veeam Intelligence now displays interactive grids, enabling sorting, filtering, and column visibility for a truly rich experience.
  • Unique URL Handling: When searching for technical information, duplicated links are consolidated, ensuring faster searches and more accurate knowledge extraction from official KBs, Helpcenter, and other veeam.com trusted resources.
  • Improved Document Parsing: Technical documentation parsing has been enhanced and now system-level HTML tags are removed, preserving only essential page text and structured data (tables, lists, etc.).
  • Detailed REST API Errors: Full error details are now relayed to Veeam Intelligence from Veeam ONE API. This allows for more precise troubleshooting and advice on the next steps when the API replies with an error.
  • Postprocessing Stability: Multi-agent isolated code execution (data filtering, processing, etc.) no longer reattempts valid fixes, shortening resolution loops.

Enhancements
  • Redundant LLM Instances for Failback: Redundant LLM instances have been added to enable failback between secure Azure OpenAI instances, ensuring continuous service availability and enhanced resilience.
  • Enhanced Conversational Logic: The conversation engine now summarizes user context between responses, resulting in more coherent and contextually aware interactions.
  • Multi-Agent Architecture in Advanced Mode: A dedicated agent now handles both conversational queries and technical documentation exploration. Additional on-demand agents are provisioned to address specialized data analysis topics.
  • Improved Artifact Handling: Artifact management has been refined to better process and utilize datasets generated during Veeam Intelligence data analysis.
  • Enhanced Python Code Executor in the Veeam Intelligence Sandbox: The code executor now supports advanced requests, including sorting results and combining/filtering multi-API outputs for improved data processing.

Starting with this release, the Veeam AI Assistant has been renamed to Veeam Intelligence. 

Veeam Intelligence Basic Mode for Veeam ONE

Veeam Intelligence includes a new online search tooling for Veeam online technical documentation, instead of vectorizing these documents. Allowing for real-time, always up-to-date answers based on these documents.

Veeam Intelligence Advanced Mode for Veeam ONE

The superior and most complete Veeam Intelligence option. Customers can get insights about their Data Protection as Veeam Intelligence queries data that matches the question in natural language, adds context, and provides a comprehensive answer with actionable steps to follow.

Enhancements

  • Trial license support — backup servers with trial licenses are allowed to use the Veeam AI Assistant functionality for the duration of the license.
  • Continuous improvements to enhance the quality of responses.

Resolved Issues

  • Certain combinations of Socket and VUL licenses are not accepted by the licensing validation service, preventing the use of the Veeam AI Assistant.

Enhancements

  • REST and PowerShell code analysis —  users may now submit their REST API or PowerShell based scripts created for backup server management along with the explanation of the problem that needs fixed. The Veeam AI Assistant will analyze the code to identify the issue and suggest modifications that may help to resolve the problem.
  • REST code generation — the Assistant now supports generating code for managing backup server using the REST API. While Assistant can generate code in any programming language requested by the user, using Python delivers the best results. The generated code can be tailored to the customer's needs by providing comprehensive, informative, and detailed requests.

    Usage Examples:
    • How do I get an access token for using REST API?
    • Please write a Python script to get information about my failed backup jobs.
    • Please write a Python script using VBR Rest API to get all detected "Infected" events from the malware detection component that happened after 2024-01-16 00:00.
