About a month ago, Veeam gathered close to 3,000 attendees in New Orleans, LA for VeeamON 2017, the world’s premier Availability event — a great success for the Veeam family. What puts Veeam in the forefront of innovation and customer satisfaction is our great relationship with our Alliance partners. As the old African proverb says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Veeam’s collaboration with partners is the key ingredient for our global business growth and for our goal to deliver the best Availability solution on the market.
I want to share some key highlights of what our Global Strategic Alliance partners presented at VeeamON 2017 and give you a broader perspective on how we work together to overcome the challenges of the digital transformation era.
We’ve heard from our customers and partners time and time again that when combining Cisco and Veeam, reliability, simplicity and agility are expected results. Frank Palumbo, senior VP of data center sales at Cisco, stated that Veeam is a perfect complement to Cisco’s hardware to ensure that applications are available at all times. Recently, we made updates to Veeam Availability Suite 9.5 to include direct integration with Cisco HyperFlex, which is very exciting, as this is Veeam’s first integration with any hyper-converged storage system. By advancing our partnership with Cisco, we work hand in hand to deliver the most advanced Availability requirements customers need to forge ahead with their digital transformation initiatives in today’s multi-cloud world.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE)
One of HPE’s main goals is to make hybrid IT simple, and with that is the need to partner with industry leaders to deliver on that promise. There has been an ongoing partnership between HPE and Veeam with close collaboration and joint engineering. As Bill Philbin, senior vice president at HPE, stated, “It's a great business partnership, great technology partnership. The fact that our folks can now resell Veeam has just launched the business forward.” HPE and Veeam’s strategies are tightly aligned and together provide customers a joint solution that lowers risk and ensures resiliency in their modern data centers. We combined our respective strengths to deliver what is best for our joint customers.
As customers continue to grow their multi-cloud (private, public, hybrid) environments, maintaining 24.7.365 Availability remains a challenge. Veeam and Microsoft are committed to helping our mutual customers take advantage of the cloud in all its forms, creating cloud-based solutions that ensure Availability, independent of where the data resides.
Veeam + Microsoft Azure enables our customers to take advantage of the agility, speed and cost-effectiveness of the cloud without compromising on data protection. Together, we have built a reputation for innovation with recent announcements at VeeamON 2017, including NEW v10 support for the Always-On Cloud Availability Platform, supporting any workload — virtual, physical or cloud — on any infrastructure, as well as private, managed or Software as a Service (SaaS) in multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments. In addition, Veeam has really amped up our focus on Microsoft, including announcing support for cloud object storage in Azure, helping customers take control of their Office 365 SaaS data with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365, maintaining business continuity during a disaster with our NEW Veeam Disaster Recovery in Microsoft Azure, delivering data-driven actionable monitoring with our NEW Update 4 for Veeam Management Pack — supporting Microsoft Operations Management Suite in Azure — and our NEW Veeam Agents for Microsoft Windows and Linux, ensuring Availability for both physical and Microsoft Azure cloud-based instances.
Mark Russinovich, CTO of Microsoft Azure, summed it up best by saying, “Through a strong collaboration, Microsoft Azure and Veeam customers have enjoyed the benefits of our complementary technologies for some time. Both companies share a vision for reinventing IT for business agility.” This illustrates Microsoft and Veeam’s commitment to ensure our customers fully benefit from their hybrid cloud environments, and we’ve only just tapped the surface.
Customers are demanding flexibility and choice in storage and data management. NetApp’s Data Fabric capabilities, in conjunction with Veeam, provide unprecedented levels of application performance, data protection, Availability and business value. At the heart of the Data Fabric is ONTAP, the operating system that powers NetApp core storage technologies. The combination of ONTAP and Veeam’s direct integration with ONTAP provides the flexibility and choice customers need to leverage the best of hybrid cloud solutions.
NetApp and Veeam will continue advancing our partnership to deliver ongoing innovations in Availability, data protection and hybrid cloud solutions for our joint customers.
Ever since Veeam’s inception a decade ago, our offering has had a very tight integration with VMware vSphere. As our customers shift to hybrid cloud computing, Veeam has integrated even further with VMware’s vSphere, vSAN and vRealize platforms. To learn more about our partnership, I recommend watching Sanjay Poonen’s, COO of customer operations at VMware, keynote presentation at VeeamON 2017.
As you can see, Veeam’s Alliance partnerships are the foundation of our strategy to help enterprises ensure Always-On Availability in a hybrid cloud environment. It is a great pleasure to work with industry leaders to provide best-of-breed Availability solutions. Stay tuned — we are just getting started!
