Guangzhou, China: September 13, 2016
Veeam® Software, the innovative provider of solutions that delivers Availability for the Always-On Enterprise™, today announced the winners of the Veeam ProPartner Awards at the inaugural VeeamOn Tour conference in Guangzhou. These awards recognise the top performers who have demonstrated success in the last 12 months in providing Veeam Availability solutions to their customers.
According to Gartner, the backup and recovery software market in China will be worth USD147 million in 2016 and this figure is expected to grow by 9.2% to USD160 million in 2017. This figure is expected to achieve USD204 million by 2019.
“Veeam has more than 41,000 ProPartners globally with more than 300 in China, which marked a 900% growth year-on-year. We are incredibly proud of our accelerated growth in this region and seek to increase this number by 300% in 2016,” said Julian Quinn, Vice President, Asia & Japan at Veeam. The opportunity for Veeam’s partners in China to leverage on businesses recognising the requirements of maintaining an Always-On enterprise, achieved through Veeam’s Availability solutions, is significant and new growth territory for us.”
Two awards were presented at the recently concluded VeeamOn Tour. They are:
“Since our official launch in Beijing last September, Veeam in China has experienced exponential growth in both number of customers and ProPartners,” said Joy Lu, Country Director for China at Veeam. “We believe this is a direct result of the investment Veeam has made in the China market and the success of our ProPartner program. At present, we have an office in Beijing and a presence in Shanghai and now, Guangzhou with full channel, marketing and pre-sales support teams spread across all three locations.”
Enterprises in China, along with the rest of the globe, are experiencing digital disruption in every aspect of business. They know that nothing less than 24.7.365 access to data and applications is acceptable, and enterprises need to embrace new technologies to deliver what their users demand, to stay competitive and to remain in business.
This is evident in a survey Veeam released in early 2016, Veeam’s Availability Report, in which an overwhelming 97% of CIOs in China admit to having an Availability Gap (the gulf between what IT can deliver and what users demand are not achieving SLAs (service level agreements) for RTO (recovery time objective) and RPO (recovery point objective) required by their businesses – this number is significantly higher than the global average of 84%.
To this end, businesses in China are investing in modernising their data centres to meet the advancements in virtualisation technologies, supporting adoption of cloud platforms and modern storage. This is represented by findings published in the same report in which the area of their data centre Chinese organisations are most commonly currently investing in is server virtualisation (77%) and OS upgrades (60%). This is followed closely by data protection and disaster recovery (50%).
“To say that Veeam’s success in China is linked to trends the industry is facing is an understatement and we once again rose to the occasion and recently announced the next generation of Availability, Veeam Cloud Data Management for the Hybrid Cloud,” said Mr Quinn. “Veeam’s Availability solution, together with our entire partner ecosystem, is the only answer organisations need to meet the ongoing demands of the 24/7, Always-On Enterprise,” said Mr Quinn. “We look forward to continued success for both Veeam and our ProPartners in the China market for many years to come.”
